Print

The E6 European pathway is a long-distance footpath, which crosses and unites countries of Europe. The 1prefecture of Drama crosses the Falakro Mountain and spreads from Kato Vrontou up Paranesti. The lowest point of the way is in Paranesti, at an altitude of 120m and the time that we need for the way is about 35 to 40 hours. Generally, we can describe the3 route as:

Kato Vrontou-Kato Nevrokopi: The way (the duration of which is 12 hours) goes close to Perithori and leads us to the Kykla Forest and from Dasoto reaches Kato Nevrokopi. What can get our interest are the magnificent broad-leafed forest of Kycla and the local worksite that can be used as a rest station.

Kato Nevrokopi-Falakro Ski Resort: Turning to the east, we enter Volaka residence in 4 hours. From there, we ascend the Falakro Mountain, passing through the «Kouri» forest, which is full of beeches and pine-trees. We can watch the mountainsides, the tops and the valleys of Falakro. The way is hard, but interesting and we need over 3 2hours to reach the ski resort.

Falakro Ski Resort-Livadero: Then, we descend from 1800 to 660m through the valleys, the beeches’ and the oaks’ woods of Livadero. The way is still difficult and it takes 5 to 6 hours.

Livadero-Paranesti: Going eastward from Livadero, we reach the forestal worksite of Drepani in 3 hours. After that, we pass through the residence of Perivlepto, in order to enter Paranesti. The way through the oak-woods lasts 6 hours. From Paranesti, we willl turn our direction to Livaditi. That is another rising and hard way of 6 hours.
